Crooms Academy is unique by being a technology based school and when TechFest is added it’s truly one of its own. Sponsorships from companies such as Symantec and Convergys have helped make this event possible. The event is held at Crooms Academy every year, and hosts business sponsored workshops, keynote speakers, and exhibits.
The exhibits hosted groups from Reynolds’ Right Hands, Crooms classes, EA, Dell, Apple, Devry University, Lockheed Martin, military forces, ITT Technical
Institute, Symantec, Keiser University, and to name a few. Students had the opportunity to visit each booth in the exhibit to not
only learn, but network among business
Twenty workshops were being held for students in various classrooms. Topics ran from “Dream It, Live it!” to “Acing the Interview”. This was a prime for students to learn more about various business and IT skills. Students also went to keynote presentations by
Michael R. Macedonia and Brooks Kimmel.
By raising over $17,000 the Council will be aiding the school. Senior portfolios are purchased for the upcoming year so seniors can participate in the important senior exit interviews. Six Council scholarships were given out with the money raised from TechFest.
