Goals
- Support classroom teachers through guest speakers.
- Provide support for Teach-In Day
- Give database of speakers in technology-related industries to applied technology teachers and support their efforts in contacting speakers to schedule into classrooms
- Encourage BAC members to add their names to the database of guest speakers
- Partner with Dr. Melody Bowdon from UCF in bringing science lessons into classrooms through Adobe Connect
- Build opportunities for technology teachers to participate in job shadowing.
- Build database of business partners willing to host teacher job shadowing experiences
- Partner applied tech teachers with business partners and help schedule job shadowing experiences
- Provide a forum during BAC meetings for teachers to share their experiences
- Support the planning of Tech Fest VI.
- Participate in planning sessions to target possible presenters for Tech Fest VI
- Recruit speakers / presenters for Tech Fest VI
- Help build the schedule for Tech Fest VI
- Support effort to develop student professional portfolios and conduct exit interviews.
- Provide teachers with appropriate material regarding their role in helping students to build their professional portfolios
- Visit senior classes during first semester to discuss the professional portfolios and introduce expectations for senior exit interviews
- Purchase portfolios for all seniors
- Ask for volunteers from BAC to conduct interviews, provide instructions and rubrics to interviewees, and schedule interviews
- Build new partnerships for extra-curricular student activities.
- Recruit teacher sponsor for robotics club, and partner with ITT in establishing club and participating in competitions
- Support ITSEC field trip as well as other IT-related field trips for students
