About Crooms

The Crooms Academy of Information Technology is a National Academy Foundation Certified Distinguished High School and the only dedicated magnet high school in Seminole County. The school offers a well‐rounded high school experience with a rigorous academic program and technology-focused coursework in the areas of:

  • Multimedia Design
  • Computer Programming
  • Web Development
  • Network Systems Technology

The Crooms Academy does not just provide technology courses, however, we offer our students with Dual Enrollment, AP, and Honors classes. In addition to this, students have the opportunity to earn their Associate in Arts Degree while attending our school through our AA Pathway through our partnership with Seminole State. We also believe that teaching our students about careers and their future is important, we do this by providing paid internships, workplace tours, and career information sessions in order to set them up for success.

Our 700 Students are also involved in many clubs and prestigious organizations around campus, these include Business Professionals of America, National Honor Society, SECME, Mu Alpha Theta, Robotics, Beta Club, Sanford Mayors Youth Council, Drama Club, and of course Crooms Con.

Now you see why it is so important for us to be supported by our Business Advisory Council or BAC. They help us provide our students with these programs (like internships, career information sessions, and workplace tours) and set them up with success. If you are interested in joining this council and supporting our students, feel free to look around this website and email cathy_alper@scps.k12.fl.us or call 407-320-5749 when you are ready.
