Business Partner Opportunities
Business Advisory Council
This council, which meets quarterly, consists of representatives from local businesses and educational institutions who help guide Crooms AoIT toward its mission of providing cutting-edge innovation in teaching and learning through a technology-enriched academic environment.
A signature Business Advisory Council event for our business community to network with our students and faculty. This is a great opportunity for all stakeholders to come together to share career/college information.
It’s your turn to showcase the “WOW” within your organization. Get into IT!
A Business Advisory Council’s fundraising event to support scholarships and special curriculum projects.
Business partners are welcome to work with our classroom instructors and students to provide academic support. Our goal is to develop “real world” experiences that will demonstrate the relevance of our curriculum.
Our partners share industry knowledge to provide information on career awareness and opportunities in the workplace.
Mentors meet one-on-one with students during the school year and act as supportive listeners, role models and personal coaches. They provide guidance, career exploration, academic assistance and advice on personal development.
Mentors are screened and trained in a two-hour workshop and make a one-year commitment to a student.
Speakers are invited to share industry knowledge and expertise by providing information related to their respective fields. Would you be willing to act as a resource for our teachers and students?
One event that we recruit speakers for – Teach In Day in November.
Local businesses are asked to sponsor student-oriented activities by providing in-kind donations or financial support. Sponsorships are always welcome to support our academic clubs in competitive events at regional, state and national levels.
Business Professionals of America is one of our largest clubs. This club provides invaluable experience for students to compete, collaborate, network, and travel.
Siemens supports and values our membership in the Crooms Academy of Information Technology (AOIT) Business Advisory Council (BAC) because it provides an opportunity to interact with and influence both the educators and students by participating in TechFest, Teach-In and job shadowing events.
We at the National Center for Simulation (NCS) value our membership on the Crooms AOIT Business Advisory Council because it gives us a means to make inputs into academic programs, provide student scholarships, highlight our exciting technologies at TechFest and provide student opportunities, with over 250 NCS member companies, for internships and entry level positions. Crooms AOIT is a partner in developing the Modeling & Simulation Certification Program and we look to the teachers, administrators and parents to encourage students to take advantage of this unique career-preparation opportunity.
